Once, the world was a buzzing place with the advancement of technology. Dynamos were the world's best electrical generators by far. They generated electric power using electromagnetic induction and utilized either a permanent magnet or an electromagnet to produce a rotating magnetic field. The difference between Dynamos and present-day generators is that dynamos possessed a stationary armature which needed to be wound with copper wire, electricity was produced due to the rotating armature. As the peak value of the electric current was reached, the electric motor started turning due to the rotating magnetic field. A direct current (DC) electric motor would require power and start spinning. In towns, Dynamos were the primary source of electric power for small technological devices like light bulbs. As technology advanced, they were replaced with more efficient modern-day generators. Today, a few out-of-the-way places in the world where difficulty in advanced technology still use them. They are very much obsolete. Sometimes, educators use them to teach students basic electric generation problems.
